 Vector-Vector does not store each dot. Rather it stores instruction for drawing the pictureHowever a picture in vector format has to store a lot of information, and so are often huge in size. So they are normally only used for things like line drawings. blueprints, most fonts are vector based so you can resize them from 8 pt to 800 point with lose of clarity

Pixel- The smallest discrete component of an image or picture on a CRT screen (usually a colored dot); "the greater the number of pixels per inch the greater the resolutionThe pixel is the smallest addressable screen element, it is the smallest unit of picture which can be controlled. Each pixel has its own address. The address of a pixel corresponds to its coordinates.....

So it means that vector is better for pig posters or blueprints.

And that pixel means that its better for photographs to fix its little defects and it will look good and if we blow it out it will look lame and it wont look good.
